All members are expected to read and adhere to the rules.
Language: Please consider who is reading what you write and don't use profanity, sexually explicit language, rudeness or swearing in any form. While reading posts from other members, remember that the word you find offensive may not be offensive to the writer. Tolerance is a two-way street. Also, life is sometimes harsh - you will have to deal with it.
Nudity: Keep any form of nudity to yourself. Here, it is unacceptable.
Lack of respect: Posting with a lack of respect is unacceptable. Treat others in the manner in which you would like to be treated. We are all here to provide each other with guidance, advice and instructions when you can. Courtesy is the mark of civilisation.
Personal attacks, racial, political and / or religious discussions: If you support some one or hate someone, that is your choice, and your opinion. Keep all those with you. These forums are for language discussion, not to prove a personal point.
Posting a Question: You're most likely to receive a helpful answer to your question, if you use a short subject title that describes your problem and a message that explains in detail
Use English: Not everyone speaks English well, but please try. We are here to learn the language, using it, however incorrectly, is the first step to gaining fluency.
Create a thread or post a message only once: You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer.
Absolutely No Piracy: If there is a book that is published, please buy it. It will help the author to make more such good books. Exchanging unauthorised copies is like stealing. We do not permit members to request, post, promote or describe ways or means of avoiding payment. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community.
Do not spam, sell or trade on the forums: Any buying, selling, trading and / or exchanging of any item is prohibited in any forum or via Private Messages. We are not responsible for any loss or damages that you incur.
Don't get us into trouble: Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense.
Help others if you can: If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do so. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably quite a few people with less experience than you, who could benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.
Using the work of others: If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails, you may then contact a Moderator and provide clear evidence that the work was created by you. Convincing evidence will result in the copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence that it was you who created the work, then in the spirit of sharing, all work will remain posted on the forums.
In plain English: If you want to keep your work exclusive, go for it. However, if you are going to share your work, do it fairly.
Reposted content, derivative or maintained works based on that of former or banned members may be removed at our discretion.
Advertising and Income Generation Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay-per-click links and other income generating methods are forbidden.
Create only ONE User Account: You are allowed ONE User Account. If you create additional accounts, Moderators will disable them and your original account may also be disabled.
Keep threads / posts on-topic Whilst a minor amount of off-topic posting may be overlooked, the general rule is that your posts / threads must be relevant to the Forum / thread in which you are posting.
If you have any questions, please ask us and we will try to answer them to the best of our abilities!
